Default Anyone have a F1/X1 cam in an Auto?

I have a F1 sitting in my room waiting to be installed and I am wondering if I made the right choice for my daily driver with stock heads. Anyone else have this cam with stock heads, auto, and daily driven?

I know of a couple up in DFW. Not personally though. You'll need a tune but you'll be happy with it. Call Mike @ Lanes Performance and Tires in Irving and talk to him. He runs it with stock heads, auto, and a PT4000. Runs hella times to.

I have MTI Stg 2 Heads and the X1 cam in my Daily Driven Auto. I have the 114LS cam with 4degrees ground into the cam. Honestly the cam sounds like a 220 type cam it idles so smooth. Granted it's been Tuned by Jayson at MTI and I've done some tweeking to the Throttle body hole but the car just sits there and purrrrs like a kitten @ idle. It truly doesn't sound very rowdy at all. Now all that is null and void when you Mat the pedal cause at 3500 it's like you turned the afterburners on...that cam just kicks in. I honestly think you'll be choking a lot of power off w/stock heads and there might be a better cam for stock heads that will produce the same power.

Good luck...I know you'll be happy w/either one.

yeah, i was starting to think it was just overkill on my stock heads but i want a mean sounding cam that is going to maximize hp but not have surging and dieing problems. I am having it tuned at mti as well.
Oh ya, and mine is on a 112.

I'll trade you my MTI C1 cam for it 222/222 566/566 on 112lsa. Has about 4k on it had a 40-43 rwhp increase on my 98 M6. I have been looking at going with a G5X2 or M2 cam but I wanted to stick with 918's so the F1 is a good candidate I am in SW Houston MTI area. I actually think I picked up a Dynomax bullet from you. Your car is on Fiskes right?

No problem what are the specs of the F1? I also have a G2 cam 224/224 580/580 112.

230/226 .591/.569 112 are the f1 specs. If i decide to swap it out for a smaller one i will definately let you know, the g2 cam looks pretty decent but i will probably stick with the f1, but I change my mind every day so who knows.

I had a F1 in my auto with a 3500 stall and made 388 RWHP and 420 RWTQ with stock heads. Mods were ls6 intake, LT's, tuning, and a UD pulley HTH

Check Sig, I have X1 cam and love it. You need tuning with A4. Once you have her lined out just get ready! Don`t be afraid!

There are several reasonably priced decent sets of ported heads out there. TEA, Absolute, Pat, RGR and others etc Keep the cam and get a set of ported heads!

I have an F1 with an auto, I do have ported heads though. It has a 4400 stall, stock LS1 intake, full headers, true duals...blah, blah.

It's not bad driving it daily, little difficult when cold, but nothing too bad.

The car is a 99TA, on slicks/skinnys the car has run a best of 95mph in the 1/8th and a 7.4 The other night I ran it, but had to sand bag due to the car I was running, but it coasted to a 7.5@80<img src="images/smilies/LS1Te..."inlineimg" /> I'm throwing on an LS6 intake and some new slicks on this week, so it might just run some 7.1's..ungutted!

After I first got the cam, I thought it sucked. After I did some tuning on the street, it has started making some decent power.

Smoke T/A: I'm guessing that was with a locked converter?
