X2. We just put this cam in my buddies WS6, and it has nice power all around. This cam on a 112 lsa = nice sounding idle if tuned correct. Good luck!

Tr230 is what I'd pick. Sounds bad ***, drives great, great power under the curve. See here- https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/476349-tr230-224-a4-dyno.html

I still find it funny that all of those cams but one is decent as a "area under the curve" cam. Why if you are looking for area under the curve are you picking the cams that are dyno queen, sell more cams, high peak HP number cams?

It's really sad that in 10 years nobody has made a cam to compete with the TR224. Mostly due to posts like this that promote big cams that aren't drivable and every guy thinking that his TR224 cam isin't that big and he could have handled more.

is that avater you? prove it

I vote for the HPE S Cam I love it that bastard pulls hard from about 2800-6500 but I have been told I can rap it up to 6800 if I want to haha but I am too big of a pansy to do so but I ran another cam only car which had a TR224 in it and I pantsed him by at least 4 cars and we were mod for mod just different cams I know 3 other cars that have ran the S cam so I first hand have seen it perform and that is what made me decide on getting mine

First you need to decide what your goal is with your car. Don't just run off and put the biggest cam you possibly can it just because. Big cams need to breathe and need to be turned way up in the RPM range to make there power. Also don't ignore the older proven grinds just because it's not the latest thing. TR224 makes great power under the curve for street duty or something like MTI's X1 cam. The reverse split X1 makes great low end tq and power with the stock heads and intake. Add a set of 5.3 liter heads and it will really come to life and be very friendly to drive. Remember bigger is not always better in the cam department.

The car is an M6 if that helps any.....I want the most HP and TQ numbers I can get out of it can only....For now I will be doing coated LT Headers, true dual mandrel bent 3" x-pipe, cold air, and a tune of course.....shortly, i will be getting a set of 243 heads, but they will be stock.....I'm kinda on a budget here.
Definately the vindicator. Sure, its big, but I read of a guy on ls1.com having one of those with all the boltons and 42lb injectors. He had the flattest torque curve i've seen in an ls1. From 3000 and up he had over 400rwtq, for that big of a cam, that is awesome that it produces that much torque that low. He dyno'd like 450rwhp and 400+rwtq cam only.

I agree about the Vindicator. For a big cam that makes a lot of power up top, all of the dyno graphs I've seen have shown great power down low as well.

Here is a recent test of it versus another good cam that is a little smaller. It made just as much power down low and a lot more up top.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/913776-vindicator-vs-vrx3-no-other-changes-dyno-results-inside.html

If you need more proof, just search for threads started by Ron@Vengeance in the dyno section. There are numerous examples of the Vindicator cam making huge numbers up top while still making a lot of power in the lower RPM range.
