Default L92 Heads On 3.908 Bore?

suppose to have a 4" bore to run these, but ls1 blockscan go 3.908...that leaves .092".

what bout going with a smaller intake valve since they are huge?

possible?

one response:

"2.02 + 1.6 = 3.62
+ .060" or so for the area between valves = 3.68"

3.91 - 3.68 = .23
/ 2 = .115"

so , centered in the bore, there will be .115" (almost 1/8") from the edge of any valve to the cylinder wall "

basically I want l92 on ls1....

The exhaust valve hits the cylinder wall.

The only problem with this is they are not centered in the bore....

I don't think the intake valve is the problem..

Damnit, Mike beat me to it..

No, dawg. I don't think its the size -- its the location. You can't add material anyway.

you can put new smaller valve seats in the heads.

I replaced my ls1 valve seats with trick flow ones.....

also notice the valves are the wrong size in the response i posted in the original post:

Valve dimensions:
Intake = 2.160”
Exhaust = 1.590”

so the math changes....and i doubt the space between is right.

Basically the difference can only be .01" which can be fixed with a 1.55" ex valve. right?

They already have a weak exhaust port and you want to knock it down even more?? I know it can be fixed with some port work, but then the biggest advantage of these heads goes by-by. Cost.

Why are you wanting to run this set up anyway?? just curious....

a "weak" ex port on these is super strong compared to almost every other ls1 head.

the cost to install valve seats is nothing to me. since i have them and the valves already.

basically these are so cheap($375 heads $200 intake) compared to afr 225's and others....and perform the same.

Ok, so what is your application??

I hope you are prepared to turn this puppy 7k plus. That is what it will take to make them really talk to you on a 346" motor.

I'm wanting to build a budget 5.3 with these heads and see what it does....going in a s10.

I get the 5.3 for 300 and have a torque plate to bore them to 3.908 and with these heads it would be a super cheap build. just kinda dreaming at this point wondering if i should buy these heads. and see what happens, if its possible.

but if I cant get any better performance under 7k i wouldnt do it.

it would just make sense to get a 6.0 block tho, huh?

That would be a far better choice IMHO.

i think so but to take full advantage you will have to rev to the moon.

Gotta be better than other heads/intake tho, even at lower rpms.
