Default Vindicator vs VRX5 vs VRX6 on the Street

Ok I'm one of those suckers that has fallen for vengance products

First the car.
2001 Camaro SS includes most bolts on. Currently waiting on 9" from Midwest with a 4.11as This is my weekend car I like to drive it on the street and will be going to the track frequently.

The goal: et: high 10.xxs or mid 10.xxs with full weight.

Of course the Heads will be Trick Flows 215s high compression however the camshaft I'm still deciding.... I would like to take imput from those that have either the Vindicator, VRX5 and or VRX6 as far as driveability on the street and the track. I know everything is in the tune so the car will be taken to Norris for a nice hand.

I love the sound on VRX5 and Vindicator have not heard the VRX6. I would love to go witht the vindicator however I'm concerned about street driving.

What do you guys recomend!!

Is the VRX5 enough to meet my goal or should I just go nasty?

I am curious about the same thing. Vengeance site says the VRX6 is meant for stroker applications, but not sure if it's limited to that. I am about to go with the VRX5 myself, the Vindicator may be too much for you on the street from what I have heard.

Anyone running these cams care to share some experience. Ron where are you man?? The VRX5 sounds awesome and should make very good power about 480rwhp or more. Thats why I would like to hear from people running this set and for them to share track and numbers results

TFS/Vindicator/Bolt Ons= 10 second capable heads/cam combo

VRX5 will make about 10 to 15rwhp less than a Vindicator but have slightly better street manners.

Ron, any numbers on the Vindicator on a 408? I picked up a 408, 11.1, Trick Flow 225s and a vindicator cam. I am curious what kind of power will be making.

i daily drive the vindicator in my 2001 SS...i have an ls6 in my car but that shouldnt make too much difference as far as driveability goes. the only issues i have are when driving the car before its up to operating temp. But once i hit the good old 195 degrees its smooth sailing. i get minor cam surge under 1500 rpms sometimes but thats nothing my 228/230 never did. i am happy to daily drive this cam, plus its fast and sounds wicked. The only thing that bothers me sometimes is that even with a full size muffler (i have hooker) its loud as f*ck which i wish i could change every once in a while, especially when its 2 or 3 am

Thanks that's very good info right there as far as driveability. You gone to the track yet? How about your tune did you bought a mail-tune or how long/hard was it to tune it on the dyno? I have heard video clips they both sound very good just stay away from my block I gotta work tomorrow.

that vindicator is just straight up nasty.. i would only run that vindicator if i went bigger cubes.

but i like what the VRX5 would give for a H/C combo for a street car.

I am running the vindicator with a ported set of stock casting heads.

It definitely needs gear, but it pulls strong up top. I am still buttoning down some things, but I am hoping the cam will pull past 7k. We will see though.

I going with 4.10 what are you running currently.? By the way how does it behave down low in rpms; I'm assuming yours is a 347ci still.

I'd go with the vindicator. From what I've seen, it's still street friendly. I saw a dyno graph of a trans am, I believe, that had the vindicator, bolt ons, and 42lb injectors. The car made 445rwhp and 400+ torque cam only. But the impressive thing is that the car had 400+tq from 3000 and up, so I doubt you woudl lose hardly anything down low. Btw, the car was an M6.
