Default Z1 cam!!

I know the Z1 cam is listed for use with a stroker motor, but do you think it would be a good cam for a 346ci car. Is it just to much? How much could stage 2 heads be milled for this cam? Anyone have any dyno results with this cam?

236/236 .585 .585 112LSA. One more thing could I use the Yella 1.7 rockers with this cam? What would the lift numbers be afterwords?

The stock rockers are a 1.7:1 ratio, so you would not gain anything.

You would probably need valve releif's to fit a cam that size in a stock bottom end..or atleast i know you couldnt mill your heads at all!

You couldn't use those rockers with a much smaller cam.

You'll probably need to spin to 6800+ to make the most of that cam. Pretty high for a stock bottom end.

That is a pretty huge cam, but if you have the heads decked, you will be able to fit that cam in the car with stock rockers. If you do, check p/v clearence before turning the motor over. And like ragtop said, you'd have to spin very high on a stock bottom end to suck all the power out of that cam. Take a look at a similar cam: Speed Inc. CC-custom 4 cam. 224/224 581/581 112 LSA.

BTW, the "after rocker ratio" for the 1.85 rocker with your cam is .636 lift.

You MIGHT be able to mill .010 and be okay...but that would be cutting it close (literally).

I am going to be running a cam similar to that...but with .010 more lift, and it will be on a stock bottom end.

Flycut your pistons, and you could do it (but dont come after me if it doesnt clear!). In any case, I think thats a bit much for stock displacement. I think max id recommend would be maybe an R1 (232/236) and even that is really pushing it.

The yella terra's are 1.7:1, but they are a true 1.7 (vs stock 1.7 which actually a little bit less than 1.7) and the delivery is a little bit smoother and more stable than the stock rockers.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't think I'll be doing this cam, because turning the motor 6800+ is a little bit much for my tates. Even though it isn't my daily driver. What is the formula to figure lift of a cam with different rockers? Thanks agian guys!!!

take the advritised lift. Divide it by 1.7(the stock ratio) and then multipy it by the ratio you want to use.
