Default 218/228 114 lsa .585 lift your thoughts...

I have a chance to get a nib 218/228 114 lsa .585 lift cam for a good price locally. How will this cam drive and has anyone had experience with something similiar. After owning the car for a while I want more power as I also will be making the formula a 2nd car. I want useable power! Will this cam be able to keep up with a set of good heads or am I wasting my time with something like this.

This is a very popular cam wioth the truck crowd, because it has VERY good driveability with smaller cubes and decent power gains. On a stock LS1 it would be very tame with great street manners...for gains I'd expect 20-25rwhp and 15-20ftlbs. If you're getting it for a steal of a deal, it'll be a fun cam to put in. If you've got it in the budget though, there are better cams for the LS1 that will still have great driveability and bigger and better power gains!

Let me know if I can help and we can discuss your goals and see what fits your wants and needs best!

looks like it would love spray or a blower....-5* overlap my last cam 220/224 551 551 114 I gained 40rwhp on a mail order it had -6 overlap and had a nice choppy idle and great street manners......
