Default Should I replace spark plugs?

I am doing my LT & Y-Pipe install next week and trying to get everything that I need.

I am not sure if I need to change spark plugs or not, since I will already have everything else out. The spark plugs in there right now are the OEM plugs with 16K miles on them.

Should I go ahead and order a set of NGK TR55's or stay with the stock plugs for now?

Any other suggestions?

You might as well while you are doing the headers. It certainly will not hurt. TR55's are good plugs as i'm currently running them.

I'd spend the extra $16 and put a new set of plugs in it

You can go either way. Being that you already have them out putting the headers on, I would put in a fresh set of TR-55s. But if you want, you can definitely run the OEM plugs if you would like.

Well he may only have 16K miles....but his car is a '99. So built/bought in '98.....his plugs are 10 years old . Since you're changing to headers....might as well for $16. I know time doesn't really affect plugs, but still after 10 years I'd do it for peace of mind.

n/m I think I misread. Looks like he has had OEM plugs for 16K miles....not the original plugs and only 16k miles

It helps to pull the plugs out for clearance during the install so you might as well change them out.

Same here . It would be very easy and fast while you have all that room. Save yourself a headache and lot of time
