Texas Speed 233/239 on 113 LSA

You won't need valves or rockers. Springs and pushrods should ALWAYS be a must with a new cam though. You really might want to look into a new pump as well while you're there along with a new timing chain. All of the above is pretty cheap insurance considering the alternative if one of them fails...

I'm in the same boat as Z28 YOU HO, i'm working on getting an 2002 C5 vette 6spd stock other than Donaldson intake, Headers & Corsa mufflers.
I noticed on T.S.P. you get a choice of 112 or 113 lobe seperation for this particular 233/239 cam. I of course would like the choppy idle of the 112 l.s. but i notice most people on here go for the 113 l.s. Any reasons why? i've searched this site and found tons of info on cams but i'm getting lost fast since most of you guys have head work done too. These heads are stock. Would this cam be way to much?
i eventually want to get the F.A.S.T intake and 92 throttle body setup. along with some "wet" spray on it. Would this cam be what i'm looking for? This car would not be a daily driver but driven hard on the streets and drag race it for fun at our local track 8 miles away from me Any help is appreciated!!!

Just swap out the pushrods and springs and get after it man. You'll be good to go.
You do have simple bolt ons done already correct? If not I would recommend those before a cam in a heart beat.

The GM hotcam only has .525 lift and it comes with the better ls6 springs. Definatly get better springs, push rods, and the stronger ls2 chain is only like $32.
The powerband on the 112 will be slightly lower in the rpm range than the 113. Give the guys @ TSP a call and talk to them about which one they feel would be best for your application.

General rule of thumb usually is that the smaller the LSA (110/111) the later in the power band you will see power (4,000+). In contrast, the larger the LSA (114/115) you'll see you're power come on a little earlier. Usually though you'll have a nicer, flatter curve with a higher LSA cam which tends to make them more streetable but some of the very low LSA cams such as the MS3/MS4/Trex etc seem to peak higher.
And no, stock springs will not support up to .600 lift. Not even close. You'll definitely need new ones. Contact TSP they will set you up with everything you need. Contacting the vendor is ALWAYS a better idea than getting your information from some yahoo on an internet website... Me included...

Didn't see it on their site anymore. They used to list ranges and dyno sheets. I have the TSP 228R and the range on it is 2400-6300 rpm so yours is going to be higher on both ends like 3000-7000 or so. I'm not actually sure on it. What lsa is it? They offer 113, 112, and 114. The 113 it says is standard. This will move your peak up or down in the given operating range that it performs in.
It's a good cam that you're going to enjoy no matter the lsa.

if you have an automatic your going to need a tune ill tell you that for sure. you really wont be able to drive it. it will stall at stop signs while breaking and just cause. get there double springs you will need them for the lift. it def has a nice sound to it. and it makes great power all the way to 7k.
