wiring 408 problem!!!

wiring 408 problem!!! 
where the hell does the two wires from the battery go?? hell, i dont even know where any of the wires REALLY go. some to the starter. some to the block... im lost as hell, anddont want to mess up anything. please help!!!
The big red wire goes to the starter, alternator, and fuse block. The small purple wire goes to the small stud on the starter. The big black wire grounds to the side of the engine block.

So i mount the red wire from the battery to the starter?
where does the black wire from the battery go?

ok, the black wire from the battery will not reach the engine block in any way shape or form. ( this new 408 block is different then stock ) so i guess i will have to lengthen it to get it to the block. what about the other wires in the diagram? i swear, i did not think this would be that complicated.

ok, somthing is not adding up. im sorry guys, but im haveing serious issues. the eyes in the wire's connecting ends are drawn to scale in my diagram( except the battery wires) i cant figure out where the damn black wires go. BIG BLACK WIRE FROM BATTERY --- and other black wire in the harness with all the other wires that has a bigger eye then the others. where the hell does these go????
