Re: Blown Engine? yup, you hydro locked and bent a few rods, good thing is if you have full insurance coverage it will be covered as long as you drove and hit the flood, if the flood came up without you driving into it then it is concidered an act of god and not covered, so specify you drove into the flood, bring it to the dealer, insurance companies like to deal with dealers not a performance shop

If you have full coverage insurance, they will pay for it, what you do is tow it to a shop like Moore Performance have him write up a quote on a new Engine plus install then call your insurance company tell them what happened they will send someone to look at the car who normally has no clue about engines and usually deals with body work and have your shop show him the quote he made, the appraiser will most likely copy his appraisal send it into the insurance company and in a week you have a check.

Re: Blown Engine? so if i play my cards right i could have a better engine the i started out with and since its no fault i basically helped myself get more HP. Things are looking up already.
another quick ? if the engine is hydrolocked then the block should be fine and I messed up some internals? or would you think the cylinder walls are screwed as well

Re: Blown Engine? I would say the block needs a hone. Once you know how much money your getting than you can look at your options, like getting a built shortblock from a sponsor. Either way your motor needs a rebuild could be cheaper to rebuild than buy a new block.
