Default LS1 Oil Consumption

I have an 02 Z28 with just over 76k miles. While driving home today my low oil light came on, drove about 1 mile home and checked my oil, it was below the add oil line. I went 4k miles (I know I know, money has been tight lately) on this change. Added another 1.5 quarts of Mobil 1 and it went back to well between the full and add lines. I've used 4.5 quarts of Mobil 1 5w-30 and 1 quart of lucas synthetic oil stabilizer since I got the car 30k miles ago. Is this normal oil consumption for the mileage I have on my car?

I would say a bit high. Check to see if you have oil inside the Intake? If you do, your PCV system is not seperating the oil from the air and allowing it to be consumed into the intake.

FYI.. Not sure if it is related to your car, but you might want to do some research on the Lucas Oil Additive/stabilizer. I have read that it has caused some problems, but I have not used it so, I can't comment on it personally, just from what I have read.

Truck 5.3 here, NO oil consumption between changes at 9000 miles interval.

Agresive tune and cat back.

Get the updated PCV valve and add a catch-can from one of our vendors.

That seem a bit much to me, I'd say anywhere from .5-1 quart and you'd prob be ok, but 1.5 qts seems like you may have a small leak, or like said before about the pcv. Put a piece of cardboard under it and see if it drips any, but I mean its prob a slow smallll leak
