Hot after H/C install
Hot after H/C install After the H/C install my car will get 230* with the A/C running on a hot day
These readings are from a scan tool not the guage so I know it"s accurate. Not losing any water so I think head gaskets are ok. On a cooler day in the 70's the temp stays fine and never gets over 205* but these 90* plus days have me reluctant to drive the car
Thermostat opens. Before the H/C it used to cool right down when the fans came on now it keeps getting hotter with both running. I think I'll get the radiator flow tested when I get back in town next week. Any other Ideas. I have had it suggested it is the extra timing in the tune but I doubt it could cause it to this extreme

Added advance and lean conditions can cause your engine to run a bit hotter. Maybe take out some advance ? What do the plugs and tail pipes look like ?
What temp T-stat are you running ?.. is it a high flow one ? Set the Fans to come on at a lower temp ? Maybe try flushing the system and using some water wetter on the refill and purge air pockets out? Add a external Trans cooler. Make sure your front air dams and spoiler are in good shape to keep air flow into the radiator.

I am starting to suspect flow issues as the coolant in Rad and recovery tank doesn't seem hot.
Any other H/C cars do this other than me and dab2pds
How about trying a 180* Stat.. with your fans coming on at 185* and the 195*.. You might be able to keep it a little bit cooler. Seem that the Fans would never turn off if it can not cool down to under the 195* Stat...

Mine did the same & it turned out to be the water pump. It started weeping out about a day after the swap. I threw on a new water pump, upper/lower radiator hoses & thermostat & have been golden every since.

If you pull the hose from the head to the throttle body off or the throttle body by pass if you have done that mod and add coolant or water till it comes out of the head that is the highest point and all of the air should purge when filling up to that level... you may have a little air in your system..good luck with it...

Thats what ECS did on my H/C and its been like that for 4 years with no issues.
+3 on air in the system. Let the car cool down and take the rad cap off. Start her up, and rev the engine up and down to kick the bubbles out. Keep the coolant level to the top of the radiator neck as you rev, so no more air gets in the system.
I've done this when draining the radiator on my car three times, an on a h/c install once - works like a charm.
