Default Patriot Performance Flow sheets

I'm getting ready to do a head swap and have pretty much narrowed it down to two or three different types of heads. Patriot Performance is leading my choices for no other reason then AWESOME pricing. Other heads I am considering is TEA and Absolute Speed. Stage 2 on all of these. The kicker here is that the Patriot heads are about $500 cheaper by the time I sell my stock heads. Flow is a big factor, though. I want the best flow per $$$$. Opinions please!!!

On a side note, I dynod my car on Saturday. 90 degree heat and 95% humidity, and it made 374.9hp and 364.9tq. TR 224/224 563/563 114LSA cam, Hooker LTs and ORY pipe, cutout, LS-1edit, and bolt-ons (ported TB, SLP MAF, etc). I was wanting higher numbers, but everyone that dyno'd that day was low. Heat and humidity was a killer, I guess.

Oh, this reminds me, I am thinking of getting rid of this cam and getting the MTI X1. How will this cam go with a set of stage 2 heads? I'm looking for 430-440hp withough a bottle. Eventually spraying it, I want mid 500s.

Soory for the long post!

High heat, low barometric pressure, and/or high humidity have nothing to due with low dyno results.

Dyno results are corrected to an "SAE Standard Day" before they are even printed on the sheet.

Had you dyno'd the car in the winter, the results would have been the same.

You got "SAE Corrected" results ... Not Actual

don't you think that your car has more agressive timing during cold dry weather due to lower IAT temps and you are less prone to detonation when dynoing when it is cooler outside? Even though you are corrected for the ambient conditions, I still belive that the same car will dyno better on a cool dry day as compared to a humid hot day. Just wondering what everybody thinks about that.

back to the original post, email Terry at Patriot.. he'll be more than happy to mail you the latest flow numbers or I can mail you mine when I get to work tomorrow.

we have gone through this before, call all the sponsors and see how you feel after talking to them, do a search under there names and see what you come up with, you will see which ones dyno more consistant and perform better with the cam you want, your car did well for a cam only

This should probably be a seperate topic.

How does the Dyno correct for this? For example, I know that the car runs much stronger in cooler weather at the track. Does the Dyno have an input for barometric pressure and temp (Sensors)? Or does the operator have to continually put that in throughout the day?

The main reason I'm wondering this is because a firend of mine in his 01 SS dyno'd 395hp a couplel months back in cooler weather, but only 378 last weekend. No changes to the car. I was expecting higher numbers with my setup. I've seen several people on here with this cam/long tubes etc dynoing pretty close to 390hp. Oh well. A dyno number is just a number. I really need a set of heads and track times.

agreed You are more than likely going to see KR on those hot muggy dyno days than you would during the winter. KR is gonna pull timing, which is gonna reduce HP. I know the dyno doesnt correct for that does it? It only takes in the air temp, DA, and those things.

this is one reason i really dont want to dyno mine untill the air cools up

but back to the post. All of patriots seem to be seeing 290-292 around .550 and 297-300 at .600

98TAauto has made a good point. On those very hot days, the PCM will more than likely pull some timing due to knock retard. No, the dyno cannot correct for that.

However, the dyno continually monitors baro press and temp (not sure about humidity). The result is a figure that represents Density Altitude. It then makes a corection to the rear wheel HP data so as to correct to a standard day (29.92" and standard temp) It may correct the rwhp lower or higher than actual, again, based on a standard sea level SAE Correction (density alt of 0 ft.)

I would say give the new TEA S2's with the new valve and bowl work. Same price but better performance.
