Default got a quick ? bout heads and cam

ok im starting my research again for LS1's since its been a while since i had one(ill be getting one next spring after my 97 snake is paid off next spring) i seen a thread about the 228r cam paired with XXX heads...so i was wondering which combination would make better power and better DD driveablity ? either the PRC 220cc 5.3L Stage 1.5 Ported Heads with LS6 intake and TSP 228R cam or the PRC Stage 1.0 LS6 CNC Ported Heads with LS6 intake and TSP 228r cam?(i'll have supporting mods too) ...it will be for a 99/00 T/A either A4 or M6(which ever i can find) thanx guys

Probably the 5.3 heads as they'll bost compression a bit. And the 220cc runner will be a little more peaky hp wise. What the runner size on the ls6 heads?

Better for DD = TSP stg 2.5 5.3l heads (get the 2.5 over the 1.5), the 220cc will not make more peak HP over the LS6 but will make it a better DD, you are leaving 5-10whp at 6500 rpm with the 5.3l heads, nothing you will fell.

The runner size on the LS6 1.0 heads is now a 225cc

If you have a tad more money look into the TEA stg 1.5 5.3l heads.

I would scrutinize the cam more than I would the heads. Granted runner length is a factor, but the cam will do more to pick up power where you want it.

ok sweet guys sorry for buggin u all bout this. i just wanna do it right the frist time as im saving up for it as we speak. so PRC 2.5 5.3heads with my cam will be a good power maker and DD? good to hear

also i even thought of the TR230 reverse split cam with those heads u guys said.....and i do NOT plan to spray or boost...ever. just good ol all motor power

lol ya findlay. i was up in toledo last night for "race wars" and there was only 5 F-bods with 2 of them being MS4 cammed making 420+rwhp my stang felt slow last night haha

oh and there was a few mustang...bout 10 of them and one was a green 97 cobra with a 2JZ swap! crazy ****....real Fast and the furious style haha

so is there any input on the thunder racing 230, 224 reverse split with those 5.3l 2.5 heads? or should i stay with the TSP 228R?
