what kind of difference can you expect from a lifter change? unless you go with solid over hydraulic...i dont see where any gains would come from. the LS7 lifters are simply more robust. which makes them good for high lift long duration cams.

I dont think you wasted your money, like one of the previous posts says they are more robust, and are a tad bit better for higher revs and bigger cams thats all. You wouldnt notice a difference between the stock lifter and the ls7s.

They are a good upgrade over stockers when doing a cam swap. But they aren't worth doing by themselves unless you have a bad lifter. You have to remove the heads to change them BTW.

X2 (I did the same thing) H/C swap should include new lifters for sure.

By this thread and your reactions to responses, I'm guessing your new to modifying engines/valvetrains.

Not everything done to an engine or a car in general is going to gain u "MOE HORZPOWA"

You can waste your money and spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on these worthless little chunks of metal we call Lifters, Springs, Pushrods, Retainers, etc. without seeing a change to your dyno numbers or track times.

But if having the piece of mind that your valvetrain/motor is more durable, more likely to survive a bit of over-rev, and having more consistent performance isn't worth it to you, then maybe you should give second thoughts to taking your car away from the stock setup.

Not trying to be a smart-*** here, but these are things you need to consider.

I'm about to drop $2600+ on a 9 in. rear end that will give me no "performance increase" and will likely result in a bit more drivetrain lost, costing me a bit of power. Yup, a lot of money for less power... but in the context of building a stable, reliable car that can handle increased power, its something that has to be done. This is how our world works.

X100, eagerly wanting to know why you bought them, if you bought them for an increase in power, then yes you wasted your money, if you bought them for added durability then no you did not.

If he has a near stock setup, does not plan on doing a H/C swap, or does not have a lifter problem with the stock ones then yes he did waste his money.

If you plan on getting a H/C setup in the future just keep the lifters in your room until you get a new set of heads (since they need to be removed anyways to install them).
