quest for 600hp

just bought a LS1 for $200 bucks and i'm looking to get 600 horse out of it. I don't know much about ls1 yet and was wondering what some options are. Trying to keep it on a lower budget (yea right) so anything that'll pull these numbers would be great. (nitrous, blower, etc.) thanks for the help

Well you can run the boost but you may run into some issues with the internals (not to familiar with FI). I would probably go with a good head, intake, and cam setup to get about 450hp-470hp then hit it with a 150 shot with all of the supporting mods. Good luck on your build

boost or juice? i would think n20 would be a little less cash. but both arn't going to be cheap. and most people max at 550-600 on stock internals and that is really pushing the limit of the bottom end. check out th FI section though there are plenty of guys in that area of power.

Good luck keeping it cheap...report back when you finally get to 600hp with the total damage to your wallet.

rear wheel or flywheel??

if the engine is out, swap out the bottom end for a middle of the road setup (possibly even bore/stroke to a 382ci), run some dished pistons, budget ported 72cc truck heads, FAST intake and a custom FI cam.

then throw on the supercharger...either a maggie or a good sized procharger.

i would think $10K should get you the 600hp you want and still be pretty reliable.

If you want the car to be drivable and not just sit in your garage with a 600hp sign on it, don't forget the rear end ($3K) and upgrading your suspension, clutch/flywheel, etc...
