Default Cam package from texas-speed

Actually already had this cam and sold it but thinking about just buying the whole package this time and getting it done. My last 233/239 was on a 113 LSA thinking about going with a 112 this time around.. Think those valve springs will be good for the the amount of lift? They're rated for .625 , but didn't they used to be rated for .600 Just wondering if yall would suggest this cam, and if so on what LSA?

Im trying to decide between this and getting a set of koni shocks and i dont know which one to do
The cam..

I think that is a great cam I almost put that on in my car as well. I ended up going with the torquer 3 but I realy like the 233/239.

I have that cam and love it. It really starts making power 3k+.

Personally, I've read a lot of bad reviews on older 918's and liked the added benefit of Patriot Gold springs. That's just me, do what you want.

On a Mustang Dyno I made 326/312 rwhp/tq on my 04 GTO.

I thought they were low also. But like everyone says, they're just numbers. I was on the stock manifolds and heads on those dyno numbers.

It's a really nice cam, obviously at higher rpms. I'd recommend the cam to anyone. I drove it for a bit on the stock tune and it did okay. After the tune, it warm idles at 7 or 725? I forget, but does not have a problem even in the cold.

So you don't have LTs? With that cam it would be a whole different car with LTs.

I agree on the 112. Here is a video of my GTO with that cam, so you'll know basically the lope and whatnot to expect from it.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=SYD5NXZ4PI4

It's a real quick cell phone video so the quality is not that great.

Putting that cam on a 112 LSA shouldn't be a problem at all. Just make sure you have an experienced tuner to get everything lined out with the idle and driveablity. We have had numerous guys picking up 60+ RWHP with this cam. On springs, I would go with the PRC Dual Springkit over a single spring. We haven't seen any problems with the revised Comp 918 spring but I would just feel better having a double spring on a cam of that size. Not to mention, you get titanium retainers, seats, and seals for the additional $100. Either way, I wouldn't expect a problem out of either spring. Feel free to give me a call or PM me with any questions you might have!

Thanks!
Jon

I have this cam and love it. I'd recommend the cam or Texas-Speed to anybody for anything.

You should give John a call and he'll take care of you.

I make 430-437rwhp 390-393 rwtq (give or take, different results/different dyno's).
That's with TSP's 233/239 with there PRC CNC Stage 1 LS6 Heads.

Power comes on around 2800rpm's or so.

Really likes the juice as well.
