Default Cam replacement, what else should I look at

This stock internals motor has 65,000 miles on it and I am getting ready to put a new cam in it. What else should I look at while I have things apart?

TIA

New timing chain, or timing set.
Ported Oil Pump
Pulley
New Valve Springs
Ti Retainers are a good idea
New Pushrods
I also bought Yella Terra 1.7 Roller Rockers, more for preventive maintenance against rocker arm failure than anything else

Pushrods?
I am planning on turning it about 6500 RPM, will the stock pushrods give it up?

Stock pushrods are unreliable with fast ramp cams and aftermarket springs.

you should buy a complete kit(cam/springs/pushrods/retainers)....Like what MTI sells... then add in Double roller chain...a new(SLP???) oil pump...a 160 t-stat.... BBQ...BEER...and a few friends to help with the job.....then go for a dyno tune.(sober up before driving)

That is a good idea, BBQ Beer and a cam install I am planning to install the ASA cam and LS6 springs in about 6 weeks. I think I will go with a new oil pump, timing chain, new pushrods, and ASP pulley while I have it all apart for sure.

I am not so sure about new retainers and rockers at this point? Do I need to check the rod bolts or anything in the bottom end while I have it all apart?

TIA

trust me ...do it all...It seems like a lot...but all the guys who sell cams recommend all that stuff....and its good piece of mind...depending on what cam you are going to get, you may want to do the rockers...they probably will be good for 20-30 thousand more miles even on a fairly extreme cam...but eventually you will want to upgrade or replace them...I will probably do mine next summer...after about another 15000 miles....the rule I follow is if you have to pull it off...its not a bad idea to replace it...especially if its recommended by somebody else...

At what point should I be thinking about rebuilding this engine? I have 65,000 hard miles on this engine. Everything is good on the motor, but I keep wondering how much this engine can take?

I've seen a LS1 with ~100,000 miles on them make within a few rwhp of what they made new. I've also seen the same ~100,000 mile LS1 take a 100 shot of spray and keep on going.

I wouldn't worry to much around rebuilding, take care of it run it until blows up then get a replacement. Rebuilding it right will cost about as much as replacement.
