what is the max overbore on a stock LS1 block?

Is it safe to go .010 over on a stock block WITHOUT resleeving it? It will see ALOT of spray if that makes a difference. Thanks!

if ur talking about ur '98, no, '97/'98 blocks could not be bored, and '99+ can go 10 over...

had no problems on our 98 blocked solid roller at 12 over.

'98 Helms manual says the block can be honed(but not bored).010 and service piston is available. I don't know what's behind everybody saying '98 can only take .005 hone. Chris Endres even puts it .004

I'd go only .005 over with heavy spray. The extra displacement is nothing and you never know when you'll be rebuilding it again and need another .005 for another hone.
