Question Small Cam Lope???

Hey, i feel like a dumbshit asking this, but i just want to confirm it, Will a 224, or 228 size cam with a 112 lobe seperation hit ( or lope ) as hard as a 230 or 232 cam with 112 lobe seperation????

I want the best driveability with the hardest hiting cam possible!

Got the Moola to order the cam, but im more intrested in the noticable idle change than power.... sounds crazy i know!

nope. overlap is the main thing thats going to give you lope. LSA is only one element of how much overlap a cam has

I had the tr224 on a 112lsa before my current setup and it sounded good. The tighter the lsa or the lower the lsa # will give you more lope. The cam i'm running now is a reverse split which is more lift and duration on the exhaust side, and even with the 115lsa this cam sounds mean. So you may want to cosider a low lsa # on a reverse split cam to get more of the sound your looking for.

The TR230 chops pretty good for the size. My TR224 on 112 chopped good through the TDs, Pat G cam (similar to the TR224 in size, on a 111 instead) chopped even harder than the TR224.

(Intake Duration)+(Exhaust Duration) / 2 - (LSA*2) = overlap. The higher, the more "chop" what you are looking for... also from what I understand however, the harder to get the tune just right...

The cam in my sig does not lope all that much with the 114lsa but you definitely know it's there. I went with that cam because I wanted good power but still a good idle and manners. Driveablity is great and I am making more power than some cars with a choppier idle.
