Crane Large Lobe Masters?
For those who care or know me/have had me spec them a cam out over the years, you all know I am a Crane Cams fan/user. I just tought I would post this for the ones that don't know that Crane has LARGE lobes for ALL out race applications. These are not totally new, but rarely used or even spoken about in the LSX community. These lobes are VERY aggersive and use BIG lobe lift, so "long travel/taller lifters are in order to use the particular cam lobes. Cranes newest lobes are called the "HR400 series". Here are the durations that these new masters are available in. They start at 242@.050 and increase in increments of 4* degrees. 242, 246, 250 etc....
242 thru 282 durations @.050 with a monster lobe lift of .400!
That .400(lobe lift)X1.7(LS1 factory rocker ratio)=.680 valve lift
These lobe are strongly recommended for RACE only applications (LS3/7/L92) head stuff, but can be used on the street engines if setup properly and that ALL correct/corresponding valvetrain components are used. You will not find this lobes on Cranes website, just there HR5 and LSHS series only which are excellent lobes also.
