Smile Cam which one to buy

Hi, I have a 2001 camaro ss. I am going to redbuild the motor. I was wondering how many people are running the texas speed cam 224,224 with the 566 lift and 112 lsa. Also the thunder racing cam 224,224 with 563 lift and 112 lsa. What do you think of the cams. Are there better cams out there. The car will be a d/d. But i want it to sound like it has a cam in it. I also have a set of 243 heads off of a 05 gto and header to go on it. Thanks JS01SS

We've done tons of dyno testing with 224ish duration camshafts. The 224R camshaft is more driveable & makes power earlier than the 224 with xe 566 lift. I've personally dyno tested them next to each other & next to the 228R camshaft. I personally prefer the 228R because it gave up almost nothing down low & made 8rwhp over the 224R camshaft. The owner of the car couldn't tell any difference in driveabilty, but he still gained some hp!

It depends what you want out of the car. I personally went a little bigger. I would go 224R with 588 lift and XE-R lobes though if you decide on a 224. The 228 with a good tune is a nice DD cam too.

EDIT. Damn Jason, beat me to the punch lol
