Default 500Hp

Hey guys i need your help coming close to 500whp, would be happy with 450 though. I am going to be running Fast 90/90, full exhaust, intake. What Cam/Heads will get me there? I was thinking MS4, this will be a street car with some track use, so i will need to drive it on the street. I have a 2000 ws6 M6. Need some help

This might not be the normal thinking but I didnt like the ms4 in my stick car it worked very well in my a4 w/4k stall. I lost about 20 hp overall when I changed to 228r but gained 85 hp between 2500 and 5k.

Now Im not saying the 228r is the best for your setup but I made 450 w/ 228r and afr 225s, 90/90,boltons, Headers ,etc... Like i said i lost 20 when I removed the ms4 but it didnt start making real power till 4k so you really have to drive aggressively to keep it in the power. Not so with a cam designed for power under the curve.

Dont get get caught up in the "I gotta have a big cam to up my dyno #s" Get ahold of Jon at TSP or Patrick G and tell them what you really want out of the car and they will spec you a better cam than the ms4.

OR you could just BOOST it!

Just my Opinion,

Doug

you want 450 hp big heads and an aggressive cam .....500 will be hard with stock cubes ....but i would call a sponser ....i see your in IL ......call speed inc. and talk to larry he can help you set up you combo unless you have 6000 for a procharger and longtubes and tuning a good h/c setup will be more cost effective

Ed Curtis @ FTI

or

Cartek

or

Bret @ Bauer Racing Engines

Those are the ones I have seen make 500rwhp stock cube cars that run the # at the track.

any of the 23x cams with ~.6" lift mated to a set of milled AFR or TFS heads and the ported FAST should put you over 450rwhp.

add in all the small mods and you could come close.

but honestly, 450rwhp is doable for say $4000....but that last 50hp will cost another $2000 or so.

so how fast do you want to go?
