Default what do you think of this setup

tsp 5.3 2.5s, torquer v3, 3400 yank, ls6 intake, is this a good cam selection? car will likely have nos later. 98 injectors. car is a 93 rx7 so my only option for headers because of the auto is mid lengths

the heads are fine for a budget setup from what i've seen, but i would be looking for either a custom grind similar to chris1313 or just have one of the cam gurus spec one out for your setup(pat g, predator). the cam choice and attention to the setup is going to make or break the combo. i wouldn't be as concerned with peak #'s as i would with power in the usable rpm range. just my opinion

bro that cam is absolutley 100% fine. BUT, if you look at the specs of the V.3 theres a huge intake lift. I dont know how well that will work with milling or anything, so you might wanto check that out. Theres cam's with more equal intake and exaust lift's witch i like more. Theres the Torquer v.2 which makes less power then the v.3 then theres the 233/239 which makes a bit more, then the magic stick 3, witch makes even a little bit more. I love my 233/239, but theres nothign "wrong" with the v.3

that setup looks good. with regard to intake lift and ptv...as explained many many times, the valve lift has very little to do with ptv, duration is more of a deciding factor. i would have patrickg custom spec you a cam, it's $25, but is worth every penny. i think you get it back when ordering a cam from thunder racing? run a search in the internal engine forum for "Patrick G".

As light as you are MS3 with those heads would work well but I would PM Predator-Z or as mentioned Pat G and go custom. Here ya go. patrick@guerragroup.com Also search his thread on here The "recipie" to 500 rwhp with heads and cam. The most informative thread I have ever read.

LS1tech has a lot of guys who like to recommend cam gurus that often have very little actual LS1 cam development experience. We use ENGINE DYNO & CHASSIS DYNO experience to test our camshafts next to competitors camshafts & our own possible new camshafts. I'd be willing to bet we've installed 75+ different camshafts in engine dyno applications chasing power & torque gains.

If your wanting a custom cam TSP can definately help you with it. We've dyno tested all kinds of different applications & lobe options NOT JUST FROM COMP!

The torquer 3 camshaft does really well & makes power earlier than the MS series of camshafts. The Torquer 3 & PRC heads have proven to make 100rwhp gains by installing the package!

Look for dyno comparisons very shortly! We're testing PRC LS6 heads, PRC 5.3l heads, PRC new casting, and a few other companies cylinder heads...

Iwent with the 5.3's and a 224/228 114+2 and gained ~120 rwhp. Didnt have a baseline dyno pull but assuming stock Z's make ~300rwhp and after H/C Im at 425 on a dyno dynamics dyno.
I would think the OP's combo would be just fine

Sounds like a good combo. Especially with your light weight and 4.10's.

your 98 injectors might cut it but 32-42 pounders are usually recommended with H/C setups.
