Default Cam bearings

Does anyone have a link for a walkthrough on how to remove and install new cam bearing. I just got a 224 cam and I was told that it was going to be a good idea to change the bearings. Any info would help. Thank you.

How many miles on your motor? I wouldn't change them if you have 60 thousand miles or under. Hell, I've done h/c/i swaps with 120,000 mile cars and didn't have any problems.

Cam bearing replacement is probably not a do-it-youself type of job for the average guy. And like 87SB mentioned, it's unlikely that they need replacement. Many people install cams without new bearings...

High mileage cam bearings are fine provided their not tore up. If you've got the cam out, take a small extendable mirror and look at them. Dont be concerned if you see copper. Its not uncommon.

If your oil pressure was fine before, your fine..

Replacing cam bearings is a BITCH, and can only be dont properly with the motor out, and upside down on a stand with all the covers off. Even then, its a bitch.

Dont do it unless you have to..
