Default High Milage question

Looking at buying a high milage ws6. It has aprx 120,000 on it, what should be done if I want to do heavy mods to it? Will the motor be able to handle mods?

Thanks

There are alot of people running full boltons and heads/cam on high milage ls1's. It all depends on how well the car was maintained. You could always buy all the boltons and save up for a refresh and new heads/cam. then have your self a new engine, and reuse your boltons.

You are definitely going to want to look into a rebuild. You may not have to go all out with the motor. Maybe a stock rebuild with better pistons and rod bolts and a h/c setup on the bottle. I wouldnt think you would need to do a fully forged motor. But with that kind of goal and that many miles I would say you might want to look into a shortblock.

I want to be in the 10s safely with drag slicks and skinnies and try to stay in a 4-5k budget range if possible

Drag slicks + stock 10 bolt rear = So there is 2k+ right there. enough go gas to go 10's on a 120k engine = so save you money for a forged sb new rear ect...
