You will not be able to be assured 450rwhp without a very thought out setup. You can't just slap on any H/C combo and rip off 450rwhp like it was another day in the park. It will take all bolt-ons and supporting mods. A great tune. A great head like a set of AFR, TFS, ETP. I think a head like PRC can hit it with the proper cam mated to it.....but again....to be sure you hit the number, don't skimp on anything. Get with a good shop to spec out a cam that would work well with your head of choice. I would definitely pony up the money for a FAST intake and throttle body setup. Also, is your car a stick or auto? If it is a stick, it will be easier to hit the number (especially if you have a stock rear). But if that is the case, then good luck being able to use all that newfound power. Suspension and rearend go into that.....supporting mods.....group. It will not really aid you in making power. It will help you actually use it.

Anyway, that is my $.02

"I want to make this much hp" threads are kind of dumb. You should be thinking more along the lines of "I want to run 11.0s"

HP #s really do not matter, unless you're compensating for something.

i think 10's would be easily reachable with 450rwhp in my 280z/LS1

I agree with you...that is why I emphasized all the bolt ons and supporting mods. Who cares how much power the car makes if you are unable to use the power.

^^^i concur with the above statements. dyno #'s are nice, but track #'s are what holds the most weight.

All depends in the setup bud. Sounds like a pretty fun project though!

There are 400rwhp cars running deep in to the 10s, and 500+rwhp cars that can't break into the 11s. All in the setup and driver.

OP, check out his setup and look what it took for that car to make the number.. there is quite a bit of $$ sitting there. It's hard to go fast "for the cheapest" like you're asking for.

He looks like he has a great setup there for sure, but nothing there is cheap. ARH headers, fast92, etc, and through a 6spd. Even though the heads/cam are "budget", they make an excellent combo. Hitting that number through an auto would be fairly difficult.
