Default How bad should it run untuned?

I am getting my car tuned on Tuesday, my question: How bad should it run untuned? My fear is that I have done something wrong, and will waste my time and money at the shop.
The car does't what to idle, the it will idle for a while, sounds like its missing. I pulled plugs while it was running, every one seems to impact it just as much.

Is this normal or may I have other issues?

I replaced the lifters , springs and cam (224/228/588/288).

Thanks

sounds normal to me....May try to un hook the battery and let the PCM flash so it can attempt to relearn to idle with your current combo but will probably make little impact on it..Your car really has no idea what is going on till it gets a tune..You have changed timing events and airflow that it is not able to compensate for till someone programs it as to what is taking place inside now...I think you will be okay mine sounded terrilble till it got tuned enough to even start and idle in the driveway sounds killer now...That is if I ever get my oil pressure problem fixed...

I recently had a 226/226 114 cam installed and the car was undriveable without some tuning. Being an A4 probably didnt help either, but the car wouldn't idle and stalled immediately after going in gear. After the tune it drives almost stock with more power.

Sounds normal...what really racks your brain is when its on the dyno running up to 7000rpm, thats when you really think "Did I do everything right"?

That .288" lift on the exhaust side might cause some running problems. Better switch cams.

Seriously, what everyone has said is true. No tune with that cam and it will run like crap. Be sure and baby it until it gets tuned. Everything is probably fine. Keep us posted on how it turns out.

UPDATE!!!! Tonight F-Body Central tuned the car. It idles like a kitten... With an attitude!! Pulls nice, has really good manners now. Pulls strong to about 6600.
Made 348 at 6300, this was the smallish 224/228 588/588 comp cam.

I hope I have match everything well. I didn't want to go to big on anything. Last outing it went 12.15 at 112.6, since then I added a 12 bolt with 3.73 and the cam. Hoping to see some mid 11's.. Will keep ya posted.

I put a ls6 intake, ported tb, ms4 cam, and longtubes on my car, and put quite a few miles on it untuned. It ran like a champ, idled perfect.

TRACK UPDATE:
1st pass ran 11.8 at 115, the 1st gear shift happened at 5000, 2nd to 3rd at 6500. So it bogged a bit.
2nd pass I manually shifted at 6500, when I shifted into drive, it acted like I shifted into neutral
3rd pass, used the predator, changed the shift point, all was ok, ran 11.56 at 115.4

I had just put in a ms3 cam kit, yank 3600 stall, and a new tranny with all the goodies in it this week. I went to get it tuned today, and got to my fifth pull on the dyno and the car started losen power a 3200rpm. We pulled all the pluges and they were good except for the number six plug it seem to be alittle lean and rockers and pushrods were also good. Had it check and there saying that it's the lifters. what do any of you guys think, help is really needed.
