Yeah the stall definately does about the same if not more than a cam would for autos depending on how big you go with each. I have over 400rwhp and the only reason my friend has any chance to hang with me is because of his stall. He is on a stock LS1 with a lvl2 tranny build and a Yank 4000. Maybe a Yank PT4000 is i think what it's called but I have never been into the stall world so idk. But with me having probably 80 more wheel horesepower, he is still able to keep up pretty damn good. He will also be camming it real soon and then be able to walk my **** even after my cam swap at the same time with still making less power than me. Cam&Stall it and be on your way!!!

In my experience, the converter did more than the cam, or so it felt that way. After adding the cam I was still running a Yank SS4000. When I upgraded to the PT4400, it felt like I gained more from that converter than I did with the cam swap, especially from a roll. Converters make roll racing a completely new experience. Stock stall has the horrible dead spots....a good converter eliminates those. Add in shift extension, and you'll wonder how you ever liked the car before you added the converter.
I wish I would have gotten to the point of throwing a stall in it.. would have loved to see how it did at the track and to see if it really helped on the street, but I had so many problems with the car I never got a chance. I could never argue with the idea that the converter would make the car better from a roll, but I've raced them with converters and stalls from a roll.. and it wasn't even a race.

Is Gas Mileage a factor in this?
It is too me and I contacted Comp Cams for some info. They said, "all our cams including the 216/220 and smaller will work with the stock converter". Great! I am putting the stock converter back in and recover some gas mileage back.

No this car is stored year round except summer time. MPGs aren't too important anymore, otherwise I wouldn't be considering any mods more than bolt-ons .

I think driving a car that doesnt have a cam in it would be kinda hard.
