Default Bolt-on Dyno Tune

I am going to be heading to Race Proven Motorsports in a week to get a custom tune on the dyno by Fran. My mods and 1/4 mile speed and e.t. are in my sig. I will be videoing the pulls and posting the graphs along with my new quarter mile time slip when i run the car the next available time with the new tune in it. Currently RPM has a mustang dyno. What do you suspect the power and tq numbers to be baseline and after tune. How much gain should i expect? Also, how much faster would you guess my 1/4 e.t. to be?

Seems a little too fast, I had a false reading at the track, bone stock runnin 8.8's all day then bam a 8.1, I was excited for just a couple seconds till I came back to reality.

But damn if that car runs 12.3x's consistent with just those mods that is something to be proud of for sure.

I really hate posting my time because my actual question is neglected. However, that run was in november almost closing time (for the winter) at cecil county dragway which is 300ft above sea level. And that night i ran back to back 12.36's but the 113.5 mph was the fastest. I too was surprized. In august and the summer months its a low 12.60 car at 110.???

as far as answering your question, dude im high thats way too much to think about lol.

but I would say with what your running you would have to be putting down 350 or so with a stall to run that time. I just dont see you doing that with the little you have... I am NOT saying your lying I just cant see the things you listed doing that.

As far as your gain after tune, you put you already have a mailorder tune and with the very small amount of mods you have there probably isnt much there to tune so I would imagine the gain will not be not much at all.

edit: this weight reduction, splain more bout that, how much weight reduction? i think is one of important key factors to your time. Your time isnt real far fetched or anything, if everything goes just right which it sounds like it did with the weather and sealevel it could happen its just rare.

That kind of MPH would put you in the 350+rwhp range

Wil the mail order tune be that close to the custom dyno tune?

With that few of mods yes probably so, but really depends on the experience of the tuner, if they have tuned mulitple bolt on cars then they will have a good file saved for the average adjustments.

Yep. There is only so many peak hp that you can get out of a bolt on car. The dyno tune might get you a few more but that's about it.

Yea it came from ion at mad z28.com so i will prob. just stick with it then. I may head to f-body central and make a few dyno pulls just to see what kind of #'s i am getting. Does $75 for 3 pulls sound like a decent deal?

Moved from the dyno results section. When you have some graphs to post up, you can place it in the dyno section. That is not the proper section for guessing games though...just results. The Gen 3 internal section is much better equipped to give you answers to hypothetical questions.

If you want to see what it dynos, just do that. Its not worth spending $300+ until you get some more mods. Especially with as good as it runs.

The tune would possibly be my last mod just beacuse i want the drivetrain and trans to last. No money to fix them right now. I might just get it done to make everything run 100% in unison. With a cutout and no cats, is it possible to throw off the mail ordered tune a little? Could i possibly expect 10 hp and tq?

I cant say what will or may happen but it NEVER HURTS to have the tune checked and possibly touched up. Hell you may end up finding your current tune is too aggressive and lose a litte. It can go anyway but sure have the tune looked at by a tuner and then ask him "can you improve this or would you leave it alone"? maybe that will help you.
