New cam installed
Driveability is great, almost stock. Huge improvement from my ASA. Alot more responsive down low, without the surging issues of the asa.
Overall I am happy with it. I do however miss the chop of the asa at idle, but the driveability makes up for it.
Next tuesday it's going on the dyno. See how she runs and see what the a/f ratio looks, depending on that maybe a re-tune (my current tune is garbage, if you're looking for a tune in the detroit metro area, I can tell you one place I would not recommend)
All and all, here's to a good upgrade!
no numbers, no times, just some simple impressions of a new cam.
i just had my Mez EWP delivered...i even installed the 160 stat in it...
but its still in the box. no numbers or impressions other than it looks sexy.
should i start a thread and expect tons of replys? NO.
anxious to see the numbers with the cam.
what did it do on the old cam..what were the old cam specs??

The ASA has similar specs on paper. It's a 226/232 .525/.525 110lsa. It just never did it for me other than it sounded real mean (alot meaner than it was infact).
It only made 358 rwhp with lt, cats, gmmg, and tune. Like I said, my tune was less than impressive. Full exhaust, y-pipe, and cats kill the numbers on that cam apparently. Very suspetable to power loss from a "not super high flow exhaust"
I am anxious to see the numbers as well. I'm not sure how good they'll be, as I've been having clutch fluid issues for the past month or so. Sometimes it grabs, sometimes it doesn't. I'm going to try to flush it before taking it on tuesday. I don't pay for the dyno runs, so it's not really a big deal if it doesn't make good numbers due to the clutch. It's probably getting replaced in a couple months.

Anyway, congrats on the new cam, and I hope your clutch issue will be resolved soon.
Hope it will satisfy your needs on the streets!
For the record, I wasn't really bitter about no responses... It was just my way of "ttt"

Yeah, you're right, that ASA cam definately needs a really high flowing exhaust to perform. I'm running stepped headers and 3" td's w/o cats.
Sounds like you got a pretty good setup that you're happy with. Congrats on the new power!

Jbird - yeah you're correct the asa is 226/236.. And yeah, I've seen your numbers on the asa and they do look great with the free flowing exhaust.
I'm thinking of going with a ported throttle body before I get it retuned, and have hopes of over 400 then... Not that it really matters, more so bragging rights because I am already happy with how it runs

You'd be surprised what a ported tb can do, especially if its not opening up all the way (90*) as it should. I had Bo White do mine awhile back and it was a major improvement!
Yeah, he's right. Have your tuner set your idle wherever you want it. When I got my car tuned recently @ EFI Alchemy, we played around with different idle speeds. Had it as low as 650 and it idled fine, but I didn't like it so I had him set it to 800.
