I would just buy the cam kit from TSP. Comes with everything you would need, springs, push rods, ect.

Any particular reason you want an MS4? Better have a good tuner...

I had one in 2 of my cars.

2000 SS. Had the MS4, long tubes, catback, 9" rear(takes alot of power away on the dyno), stock LS1 intake and TB. Car put down 380rwhp and ran 11.9's at 118 all day.

2001 Z06. MS4 kit again. Long tubes, full exhaust, vararam intake, lower pulley. Car put down 435rwhp and went 11.4 at 121 in 90* heat.

IMO its a awesome cam kit. If I ever get another LSX I will put the MS4 in it without a doubt. Do it, you will never look back.

You should add 100hp or better with that cam and full exhaust, intake, and tune.

yea from the research i have done on it which is very little as i got the news today. It seems everyone likes it. The motor will also be gone through and whatever we need to get it will get. Hopefully i will only spend around $1500 for the total build. Just going to get new rings and bearings and the cam kit with new timing gear and new oil pump.

Yeah I was going to say you might want to replace/upgrade your timing chain and oil pump while you are in there.

Someone correct me if I am wrong here but the MS4 is a high duration, (also high lift) cam; you will assuredly lose low end power and will have to spin to about 4K to get into the power band which won't peak until almost 7K unless you get a very low LSA which will make idle even harder because the overlap will be greater. How do you plan on tuning the vehicle?

Alright guys here it goes.... The camshaft market is endless when it comes to perfomance applications. It really depends on the mods you have in order to run this cam because of the lift and duration it has. RWHP gains with cam, tune, full exhaust made 428RWHP-386RWT through a 6-speed ls1 camaro at redline performance in festus missouri. My car is putting down 463-441 with Ms4 on 110-LSA, Comp R Lifters, Patriot Ls6 STG 2.5 Heads Milled to 58cc, ARP 2000 RodBolts 160 Stat, Hooker 1-7/8 LT's, TSP 3 Inch X-pipe, Moser 12-Bolt, 4.10's, 6-speed, 36lbz, 255Pump. The MS4 doesn't turn on until 3000, doesn't make power until 3500, and doesn't stop making power or pulling until 7200. Nothing more to be said other than that my car went 10.98 on big and littles with stock throttle body and Ls6 intake N/A lol don't under estimate the power of the LSWNDR.... You Don't need a bigass cam to spank **** with under the curve power and if your intake doesn't flow what the heads flow then any cam of 600 lift is pointless. The 228, 230, or torquer v.3 Texas speed cams are great call them for the camshaft package you can't go wrong. If you can afford it hit up Pat G for a comp custom grind cam well worth it as well goodluck

Also you'll need a 4.10 gear or bigger in order to pull the RPMs of the MS4 through a 6-speed if your staying N/A, but if your gonna put the jug on it get 373's. A4 also 373's and a 3500 stall nothing smaller because remember power doesn't turn on until 3000 so 3500 is ideal for the MS4 again goodluck with your path of destruction!!
