/\ why cant you go over 405 at the crank?
Honestly I would say use a good ol' 224 cam like the TSP 224r. great cam for a dd and makes a nice fat powerband wit a flat torque curve. Search 224 cam

wat sort of power levels can be expected on stock cubes with the TR224 114LSA cam? With a nice set of heads to complement the cam offcourse.

depending on the heads and wether or not you have long tubes 400 easy. My cam is slightly larger but through shorty headers and stock cats made 393/365. Put on pacesetters and high flow cats and I got the numbers in my sig

how is the idle eith the 114? i wouldnt want my car to idle super choppy and hop all over the place. the closer to stock the better. your numbers are great man....if i can make 420+rwhp with the 224, this would be awsome!

The hot cam looks more and more like **** the more i read about it. Anything else? This isn't the only site, on the dyno it has the tendency to loose torque at certian rpms below what even the stock cam can make. Definately thinking of something else.

Any decent lope, decent mileage, and good powerband grinds available similiar to this cam???

Theres a T/A that goes to my school running 114LSA. Its pretty choppy but hes kinda slow because all he has is exhuast and a really aggressive cam (cant remember what spec exactly). NEEDS a higher flow manifold with that cam and a tune.

114 in mine is really pretty tame. You want it to be choppy get a 112 or a 110, you want it to be closer to stock go with a 114 or higher.
Also if your car is an auto just accept that it will dyno lower, although with my 9 inch we would be about even I think

I posted why in an earlier post. 99 injectors which are i think 24 pounds. I know whatever they are they flow only so much and i dont have the money to get bigger, much less care to have more than 400 anyways. This is my drift car and DD so 500+ horsepower on street tires is somewhat rediculous.

Drag racing bores me but thats the american culture i guess. Well unless someone is dying to tell me a good cam or wants to defend the hot cam lets just let this thread die.

Thanks again to all you people who responded.

I am sure we all be happy to let this thread die but you have 26# injectors that can easily support over 400RWHP, not 405 FWHP, so don't sweat it. Headers and Y are mandatory foe either the Hotcam (which rally needs a good exhaust or it sucks) or a 224/224. The 224 is a better cam because it gives up nothing down low and gains up top ESPECIALLY with ported heads as you mentioned you will do. Hell, the hotcam is designed around STOCK heads so that TR 224 or 224r will really shine with decent heads.

Thanks for clearing that up!

So what about the hot cam loosing torque at random rpms in the dyno i googled? Is that just a bad tune? I'm keeping stock heads so 218 is a good chioce huh? I want the perfect cam!!! ><! where can i get a custom grind in texas around houston?

Well ok not picky to that extent. Mileage, i dont care about its a weekend/nice sunny day car. Smog, not too concerned about, tunning I can take it to a shop after the cam is in.

I just dont want the super choppy idle that makes the car feel like its gonna explode or roll over at the same time. Thats why i was asking about the TR224 w/ a 114LSA. That is all.
