Default Dyno #s for my new 402!

Numbers are finally in after 1200 mi break in. Motor is an AL 402 from TSP with their MS3 cam, Patriot heads, ported FAST intake w/LS2 tb, Halltech cai, FLP longtubes and Bassani catback. Here is the sheet:

[IMG][/IMG]

Numbers came out a little lower than tuner and builder expected. Tune is ultr conservative with like 24* timing, but I took it to VIR last Monday for 3 hours of track time. It is hard to believe it is 90rwhp less than sc motor I had. Car pulls strong and is a blast to drive. No one was outrunning me down the backstretch.

What compression are you running? Nice torque curve, but does seem a little low for that many cubes. I would of figured you would have broke the 500rwhp barrier. I just made 480rwhp and 430ftlbs in my LS2 C6. We added ported 243 heads, cam, ported FAST and supporting mods. We bumped the compression quite a bit up and the car responded nice.

Compression is 11.2. Everyone was guessing around 500.

Works really well at the track coming out of the slow turns!

Those heads and that cam choice are holding you back a lot! If your happy with it thats all that matters though. The car should be faster than the previous SC'ed setup especially on the road course.

Yea they are predicting for my 402 to make around 550-560 on motor. My set up is 11.75-1 compression. L92 ported heads, 242/236 around .630 lift cam, 1 7/8th kooks B&B prt, and the new fiber tuned sheetmetal intake by Nitrous Outlet.

Car is definitely faster on the road course and will take a little more track time to adjust.

All of a sudden I am not feeling good about my Patriot heads. Seems like they stacked up pretty good on the flow sheet when I was researching them. I went with the MS3 because I dd mine and the MS3 seemed like a better choice. Is there such a thing as builders remorse?

The reason I thought your numbers were kind of low is due to the fact that my stock cubed LS2 makes the same torque as you but slightly less HP Corrected on a Mustang Dyno .

I just did a '99 C5 for a friend of mine. The combo consisted of a stock bottom end, Fast 90 intake, LS2 Throttle body, G5X4 cam, ETP 225 Heads, LG Prolong tubes, Titanium catback and and underdrive puley. It made 472rwhp/440rwtq. I have yet to see great results from Patriot heads. Most of them are in the 470-480 rwhp range on a 402/408. I'd recommend the TFS 225's or 235's for your setup. You will be suprised how much HP you will pick up.

That's bro. It's been covered on here over and over and over. Load bearing dynos are great tuning tools, but require "calibrating" which can lead to operator error or worse, manipulation. There is no given percentage that the DJs are higher, or lower, or whatever.
Sorry OP for the . I see ***** got ya hooked up!!

I really can't give you a honest answer on that question. I am not sure about it.

There are a lot of Granatelli MAF's sitting on garage floors. There's a reason. I made the numbers below with a small BRE Timberlake cam and an LS6 MAF.
