Default LS2 heads and intake to LS3

I've searched for 3 days and can't find info on this. Is it as simple as bolting on a set of LS3 heads and intake and throwing a cam in? Seems you could get the top end stuff for $700 or so as opposed to 3K for Trick Flows and a Fast. How much more is there to gain from the nearly $2500 price difference? Any insight is appreciated.

Use a thinner gasket and you'll get a nice compression bump too. Stay with a mild cam and you'll be fine and make good power.

Top end after market heads offer two things. The ability to squeeze the last 10 HP out and the ability to run bigger cams without cutting valve reliefs in the pistons. I've seen several guys post up the results using a 224/228 114 or 228/232 114 cam and getting 450 - 470 rwhp in an LS2 vette when swapping to LS3 heads and intake.

Porting the intake will be good for 5 - 10 HP with a cammed set-up.

if you go with the ls3 intake instead of the l76 you will need to either rig your map sensor or replace it with an ls3 map and connector.

Do I need different rocker arms, fuel rails, lifter? The Trick Flow heads require the use of aftermarket rockers if I remember correctly. I'm just trying to get the most bang for the buck, but I need a realistic idea as to what the swap will cost.

you can use the stock ls2 rails, lifters, and the exhaust rockers. you need the l92 intake rockers and the pedestals have to be for the l92s.

Not sure I understand from your first post which way you are going?
I assume LS2 heads and intake on a LS2?

If so you will likely want to mill the LS3 heads.

Spinmonster on the CF has done a number of swaps. Here's a sample post of his.

All you have to do is extend it to the front and use the same one that you have for an LS2, unless they changed it..

the ls3 uses a different map sensor bigger with a bigger hole in the intake, some people have used silicone to make the stock map fit. it also bolts down instead of using a clip.
