Cnc'd heads or FAST next?

Default Cnc'd heads or FAST next?

Guys help me decide. I am trying to decide to have TEA do a stage 2/3 port on my LS2 heads (flow 322) or instal a ported FAST 92?

Current mods:

Vengeance 224/235/610/620/115 cam
PP springs
Ported LS2 intake
Ported TB
Summit 85 MAF (worked great)
Kooks 1 7/8 w/ 3" Offroad
Vararam CAI/Spacer
ECM tune
TCM tune

I just wanted to get the heads out of the way, and I believe they will give about the same ammount of power.

What are your thoughts?

id do the heads so you can get it out of the way. then it would be a hell of allot easier to do an intake later.

Get the intake manifold.

People will underestimate the car when you say that you have stock heads. This is good.

Have you also checked to see if you can mill the heads without running into PTV clearance issues? A bump in compression will help add some HP.

Thanks guys, I can only mill the heads .010-.020 so I will just leave them @ 64 cc just in the event I go FI later.

I just went thru the same scenario on my 05. Originally did the FAST intake, which I installed myself. Now I just added ported heads and a 228-232 cam. With a ported FAST, comp cam, ported heads, bump in compression we made 479rwhp and 430ftlbs. The heads flowed 315 on the intake and 245 on the exhaust. It is very difficult to get alot more out of these heads, they are very good in stock form. We figured about 25rwhp for the ported heads. If you go heads, you can use .040 cometic gaskets to get a slight bump in compression. If you do not and might go to boost in the future, add some ARP head bolts at minumum.

people who get fast intakes over HEADS are the dumbest people in the world! why would you have such a setup around a pin straw of heads I dont know.

get a nice pair of heads and run with the LS6 intake. I do and just look at my setup! FAST is over rated.. will it give me some gains sure.. but at the track its jack ****. Ill get a fast when I come around to it and gain my MAYBE 20rwhp with a ported setup.

get the best heads you can.. TFS 215's
tfs 220s if you want to sacrifice a little and save on the wallet big.
sell your ls2 heads you will get some nice money to recoop. btw mine are milled to 59cc if you want to see big nice #s go that way. If you really want boost stay at 64 and sacrifice about 20rwhp n/a now.

Maybe, the cost effectiveness has something to do with it. The TFS heads are badass, but he could also take that $2500 bucks for that head setup and is well on his way to a nice blower setup. I believe A&A has a good setup for $3800 bucks. I made just under 480rwhp with my ls2 heads. Cost? $350 for the port work and $80 bucks for the milling. It does help that my buddy gets me killer pricing.

Im going with the TEA heads. They will be killer heads for less then $1100 since I have springs already. I will be running ARP's since I plan on a 150 shot after the FAST. I wish there was an alluminum FAST for N20 use actually.

I have not dynoed it yet but it is pretty strong. My last car was a 2.8 KB Cobra but this car does impress.

The Stage 2, 2.5 and 3 heads flow awesome.

my buddy is selling his loaded ips stage 2 heads, bolt on an easy 35 horse. he currently has them on his c6 and is making over 450 to the wheels. 1000 bucks and they are yours.
