Default L92's on a turbo car?

I just want see if it would be a good idea or not. I know L92s flow well but will it hold up to 20 psi of boost.

The deck is not very thick on these from what I understand. They are also still a 4 bolt head... thin deck+4 bolt= pushing water/blowing head gaskets... I think you would be better off with an aftermarket head with a thicker deck and if possible 6 bolt heads/block. I would also have the heads O-ringed for high boost, even if you go 6 bolt, and it would be a requirement for a 4-bolt setup.

I would wait and see what others say though, some people might have has some luck with them. Im just speaking from a theoretical standpoint.

I think 20 psi is pushing it. Somewhere around 15 is the max I would go.

i would stay under 20psi for the reasons that are already stated above. These heads are the **** though for the money and honestly with the right combination you wont "need" 20 psi to do what you probably want to do(even tho i have no clue what you want that much power for but anyways, race car, street car, grocery getter?). If you want a max effort ***** to the wall setup, go with something completely different and push 23psi or something up there. But seriously anything over 700rwhp, especially on the street, is pretty ******* crazy to begin with no matter what setup you have. I would say if you really are dead set on the L92 heads, use them and boost 15psi, you should be good to go with that!

Hitting the dyno again this week. Probably taking it up to 18-20 psi, if needed. Just going after "The all important 1000 rwhp dyno sheet"
I will tell you this, in my car on the street, anything more then 65% throttle with 10+ psi is pretty scary on regular tires. My new 28" drag radials will be here at the end of the week. Then I can do a little safer street driving. To tell you the truth I have only hit WOT for a second or 2 on the street and it was mean! Anything over 650-700 hp is about the limits for practical street driving, More then that and you had better bring your "A game".

I agree with cjg454ss alot on the tune,a bad tun on a lower hp car can yeild same probs. Veee8 good luck on the 4didgets. If you driving 800+hp on the street I dont know about your A GAME, but I would have an O face

1/2 inch or material > ARP2000 head studs and / or O rings. Both are relatively inexpensive and added insurance.

We made 600 rwkw out of a standard l98 with valve springs, cometic head gaskets, and camshaft on 15 psi with 98 octane pump fuel. Went to 16 psi for ***** and giggles and it ended up in tears! It lifted a head, bent 4 rods and ruined a bore. In saying this it was a little to lean for my liking. The deck on the l92 heads with 9.6:1 comp are too thin for anything above 14psi as they twist. Again this was with timing on the edge of pump fuels limits...
