Called Edelbrock today to ask a couple of questions, one of them I asked about runner length on the L76/L92 vic jr
They said it was 5" for the middle runners and 7" for the outer ones.
How would that apply for a big cube hydraulic motor?
7" seems pretty ok but the 5" seems like something better suited for a solid roller motor.

It depends on your car
you dont have solid roller or a super big hydraulic, but you do have to look at the way carb cars are cammed. the runner length will give you the best of both worlds if you have the right set up
