Default Building an LSX454 for a 67RS/SS need to know what's the best computer

Hey, been reading through a lot a threads and the wealth of information is incredible. I'm building my first LS engine and wanted some feedback in regards to which computer i should use?

Some details:
LS7 heads (minor work)
planning for 620 FWHP
Not sure of the intake (based on the numerous debates in various threads it's going to be a decision made later on)
M6 transimission

Thanks,
Tony

Nice! I'm not exactly sure which PCM would work best for you, but I do know that the latter models have more tuning parameters, so I would think that you might want to consider a LS2/3/7 PCM over an older, simpler LS1 style.

Do you have the short block built? What reluctor ring does the crank have?

Nope, just a block so far, still trying to put the shopping list together but i'm assuming i'll need a 58 tooth reluctor wheel with the newer version computer.

What about aftermarket computers? Or should i stick with the GM?

Early E38's suck due to injector limitation to 8g/sec
IMO get an older 99+ LS1 cheap as chips and loads of aftermarket wiring looms available for them.
Sure the later stuff has more modern control mechanisms inbuilt, but the older stuff does the same job cheaper..
Same power at the end of the day.

Default Nice build...

Just wanted to know what type of sub-frame you are using for your Camaro? Looks nice. I am doing a LS1 (LQ4 block) with L92 heads for my 69 Camaro. I had the same question about which ECU to use with my build. Everyone steered me to the 58 tooth reluctor wheel ECU's for high-power builds. I still have yet to purchase that stuff though...

It's a Art Rassmussen design, unfortunately he passed away soon after i took delivery. I believe Wayne Duo took over but went out of business several years later, I think? Ultimately i would use something like the Detroit Speed & Engineering if i was in the market.....it's only money!

I agree, at the end of the day i probably won't notice a difference.
