when is a 100maf needed?
I'm about to go toa super victor, at that point the carb type TB will be on.

All the SD tuning and whatnot, never tried any of that either. Car ran decent, I never looked at it like it was down on power, car's always been heavy IMO and that's been what has held it back... the maf, who knows. If I pull it, and put a super victor on and change to a little bigger cam and it picks up, great.
I will, have the super victor ported (or I'll do it) before it goes on, and I'll hang onto the 90mm in case the thing doesn't make any power after it gets freshened up so I can toss the fast back on just in case.
Once I know the single plane is making more power I'll plumb it, but not until then, just for this reason.
If I put some parts in the motor so it will spin 7800, I think it will probably pick up with the single plane, I can't see a 400 inch motor getting enough air thru it with a fast intake to make power to 7800 like I want it to. As it is, look at the dyno graph in my sig, you can see it crest at where I think the fast peaks off and just carries that power level out. I "think" that's the intake tract becoming a restriction now, before I put a bigger cam in it.
If any of those parts are smaller than any other...you just created a weak link.
