Well to be honest I need to prove to my insurance company that an LS3 head would be a better choice of head than a factory head.

Why would I be wasting my time? I am putting it on a lq9 so if you were referring to the 4" bore I already have that covered.

^^What this guy said.

Judging by your sig pic and what you asked I bet everyone here would think you were putting them on a LS1..details help.

What do you want to know about the LS3's? They kick the **** out of a stock set of 241's.

Stock flow is around 320 cfm Intake, 210 Exhaust, 261cc Intake Runners.
Valves are Sodium filled, 2.16"/1.59", chambers are around 65cc from what I have seen. You will need the Offset Intake Rockers.

I know more of the specifics on the L92 Heads, not much difference tho, just the chamber.

Just get a price quote from a qood Chevy parts house on both and see what the price delta is. Price out L92 heads vs the LS1 heads and it may well be a small enough difference to keep you in the game. L92 heads may actually be cheaper, that's the case if you compare GTO LS1 heads (243s) to the L92s below from SD. I think that's a winnable battle though if you're trying to get them to cover the cost of a complete drivetrain replacement, you likely won't get that - nor should you.

Point out to them that the head is less expensive and that brand new LS1 less efficient in terms of MPG and Emissions and that you "really want to do your part to save the Earth from Climate Change" . . .

If they "buy" that lie, GREAT . . . If they don't, just show them how much cheaper they are ! Try referring to them as "L92" heads to get away from the "high-performance" stigma . . .
