Default Another FAST 102 L92 thread....

Hey guys I hardly post on here or anywhere. Kinda gave up on forums for awhile but Im trying to see If anyone has had any REAL gains with the FAST 102 intake for the L92/LS3 heads with 90mm TB on a 6.0L motor?

I'll give ya a list of my mods and car just so ya know what im working with.

2005 Pontiac GTO
LS2 w/A4

Mods-
Ported, polished & milled L92 heads (stock LS3 valves, stock LS3 rockers)
Ported L76 intake
Ported 90mm TB
Custom ground cam - specs Lift .601 int, .610 exh.
Dur 232 int, 242 exh.
Lsa 118
Comp or Manely hardened pushrods (couldnt remember which)
Stock ls2 timing chain
ASP Underdrive pulley
Custom CAI
Kooks 1 3/4 headers
Catless mids
Magnaflow 2.5'' catback

RPM level 6 4L65E trans w/ YANK 4000 converter
Diftechnics 3.91 gears

Before gears the car put down on a dynojet 482hp/434tq

Im mainly asking if anyone has seen REAL gains on going to the FAST102 on a set up like mine?

Ive searched and havent come up with much besides the typical bs threads bout this intake.

I have a chance to pick one up brand new at a great price. Thats why I made this post.

I see some gains here and there but not sure if 4hp is worth the price.

I wouldn't put the 102 on unless your going to put the 102 TB on as well.

Sweets10V8 did you have the 90mm TB at the time you did yours?

I looked up te Nick Williams 102 TB DBW and for the price its not bad at all of a price. So that might be something in the near future I'd do IF I buy this intake.

This statement shows that you dont really understand how an intake works, the TB size doesnt make power. The runners do. The TB size is ONLY a restriction point and 99% of people dont need more than 90mm

I run the 90mm OEM LS2 throttle body, and use 90mms on all the installs I do as well. You can always upgreade to a 102mm TB later if you would like. Its just a lot of work for very little gain.

Due you know if those dyno runs (the ones with the higher hp charts) are with a ported or unported LS3 intake?

Everything is unported in those, both the FAST and the OEM LS3.

I have yet to see an actualy dyno graph showing a ported OEM LS3 intake show any gains, they ALWAYS make it worse(except for the people trying to sell the ported intake).

Hmm think I might have to find someone that can dyno my car before and after to see IF I gain anything.

Always thought guys were having issues with gaining anything switching from a ported LS3 intake to the FAST intake. Thought thats why no one was buying them because no one made a gain over a ported ls3 intake.

Ive never seen a FAST intake not gain. Most of the people dyno on differnt days or on different dynos. Some tune, some dont. You never see anyone post logs from their MAF showing the gain in airflow. You only see chassis dyno numbers that are HORRIBLY inconsistant by nature due to the lack of controls, and that have to use the maximum amount of smoothing to get any data......

Dont get me started on how much chassis dynos suck.....

On a side note and sort of hijacking...ive got an LS3 stroker going together on my C5. the Fast 102mm is OUT of the question for fitting under the cowl with mast medium bore LS3s on it. Is there a Fast 92mm for the ls3? Or am i "stuck" with the stocker?

I have a similar setup w/ the FAST 102 and NW 102 TB, but I did all the modifications at 1 time. I wanted to hit that "magical 500 rwhp" mark being all NA with stock internals and my tuner knew I'd need every last measure to accomplish it! The overall "under the curve" gain is what the FAST setup should be noted for. Might check out the thread....

Well I do see people gaining on the LS3 motors but my main reason to make this post was to find REAL world gains on the FAST 102 on a 6.0L with the LS3 top end (with work done to those parts and a custom cam)

I have the FAST102 coming this week, but obivously the car wont be back on the road just yet since the trans is out getting rebuilt and the converter is getting cleaned up by YANK.

So it'll be some time before I get this on a dyno to get real numbers
