The best place for a MAF is in the bin, no need for one at all

Incorrect, a MAF actually measures airflow. Speed density calulates it and is used to aid in transitions, its benificial in this application to keep the maf.

Mafs are easy to tune and the stock one should work on a street car like this, the vette one will work as well.

SLp 85 here which is the same as the Vette one. No problems with it.

Maybe I was a bit rude!

I know what a MAF is, just that there aren't many high powered LS motors in Australia that still use one.

Exactly.
Why bother with a MAF when you dont need one!?

Chrysler dont use them. Ive never used one. Sure its a belt and braces approach, but you certainly dont "need" one.

Much like you dont need cats, or the EGR or AIR systems etc.

Open loop speed density does have its fall backs, but I think there is a line where a MAF becomes a nusense rather than an aid. For the OP's car I see no reason to eliminate the MAF sensor.

Comparing the MAF sesnor to the EGR or AiR systems is kind of.... well stupid IMO. Yes your car can function without all of them. But for a H/C car with a 150 shot... unless he was going max effort 347 or bigger he will be find with a mass airflow.

Well they are all parts of emission controls, so yes they are all pretty much the same!

Wait what?? HAHA

Mass Airflow is for measuring the air... EGR and AiR and EVAP are emissions controls.

Hi will the LS6 MAF require special tuning like the 100mm maf?

The point is they are all not require irrespective of what they measure.

But at the stage the OP's car is at it would pointless it delete his MAF. Plain and simple. Weather our cars will function with or without it has been established.

They are easier to tune with and the debate over weather and open loop vs mass airflow was long debated.

So if you want to delete you MAF on your next fbody when it's nearly stock and pay for the retune.... Well more power to you.
