Thanks for the pm reply and unfortunately I am in the off season so I wouldn't be able to test out your ported intake until spring. However I am currently using a gen 3 unported truck intake on a cammed 6.0 lq4 (379 rwhp/357 rwtrq) so the results going to your porting of a tbss intake should be sweet. Maybe 20 rwhp overall..we shall see ☺

I could do a before and after tbss porting, both tuned so you can finally get some fresh dyno results. Springtime should tell.

I have a turbo mustang with a unported tbss style intake, have the intake been test under boost after being cut apart and put back together? I would like to get my intake ported to see the power gains but don't want it blowing apart at 24-25psi

We no longer cut them apart to do the Radical Porting. We haven't done it that way for several years. We now have the tooling and capability to do all of the plenum work through the throttle body opening so the integrity of the manifold is maintained. We have never had one come apart in a boosted application. I would need to see your mustang manifold to be able to tell you how extensively we can port it.

The price jump you mention above isn't accurate. You are comparing the Basic Porting and Radical Porting prices. Basic Porting this manifold is still $275 and Radical Porting is still $425. Here is the link for both options:

What's the difference between your basic and radical porting on the manifolds? I found a ton of pictures that show the radical porting but none that show what the basic porting looks like or what it consists of...

The Basic Porting is porting the runners and throttle body entrance but not all of the work that is done inside the intake manifold plenum that the Radical Porting photos show.

I am interested in doing this on my NNBS 5.3 manifold. I am wondering how this effects the Tq and Hp under 3k rpm. Will this have any negative effects on the curve in the lower rpm. I tow often and would like as much lowend as possible and was hoping this may be an option. My max rpm is 6200 if that matters.

Torque and HP increase throughout the power band. Even in the low rpm's.

So how do I tell a pre-08 TBSS manifold from a post 08 manifold? I was looking at your site to order. I bought the manifold off-motor, not sure which one I have.

The earlier TBSS intake manifolds have a vacuum tube molded into the top center of the intake manifold whereas the newer version has a hole with a twist and lock connection for the vacuum tube. Here are pics of an L92 and L9H intake (looks similar to the TBSS on the tops) showing the difference.

Looks like I have an earlier version. I have a 92mm cable throttle body I was planning to use with this. I can make my own cable mount, but I was wondering: Does the "radical" version of the porting open up the plenum enough so that I can use that throttle body without issue?

Yes, no extra charge to match it to your 92mm throttle body.

I just ordered mine on exchange. It's going on a big cubic inch "spare parts" engine build for an off-road buggy. Hopefully this will help the engine fill it's lungs a little better.

I had a question. i have a gen 3 intake manifold. is the radical porting process the same as on the 4 bolt intakes? in other words do you remove that hole in the back of the plenum and get rid of the cylindrical structure? I have seen all the pics of the new style manifold and am wondering if the process is basically the same..Thanks

Yes, the process is basically the same on the Gen III manifolds.

Being you're dealing with cathedral port heads it should drop right onto an LQ4. No difference between Gen III or Gen IV cathedral heads as far as this is concerned.
