Default L76 and LS2...same block??

Quick question...Is the block of the l76 the exact same as the block of a ls2??

Did a search and got a few vague results which say same. Just wanted to make sure before buying one. Also...can i swap the ls1 engine for a l76 on my 04 GTO?? Is it no hassle straight swap plug and play?? Thanks in advance guys!

Yes L76 and LS2 blocks have the same casting number.

No an L76 into a 2004-2006 GTO is not a straight swap.
L76 use 58x crank reluctor & 4x cam reluctor.
All GTO's are set up for 24x and 1x timing reluctors.
Oilpans and front accessories are also different between L76 and GTO.
