L76 6.0 Performance
I just bought a 2009 G8 GT. Are there any recommended first mods to wake up the L76 6.0? I want to delete the DOD and add some ooomph with breaking the bank. If you had $2000 to start, where would/should I begin? I know the cats and exhaust are choking up the car, but is that best place to begin? The end game goal is a Procharger setup, but that's a ways off from now.

Tune, Headers/exhaust, Converter, Cam. Plenty of oomph, lol. Probably going over $2k though. I guess I'd start Tune then full exhaust then CAI, then converter, then cam as money permits.
Tune and full exhaust are pretty good starting mods for just about any LS engine.

I put an L76/4L80E in my Datsun 240Z. I did the DOD delete thru Texas Speed, purchased a cam kit thru Geoff at EPS, 230/242 .604/.607 with a 113 lobe center, 1 3/4" custom built long tube headers, a tune and 3600 Edge 9.5" converter.
Car put down 417rwhp thru a power robbing 4L80E and ran 6.91 at 99 on motor in the 1/8th on a crappy 1.6X 60 ft.

Pat G had some great results with the y/t 1.85's on his L76.
That being said it was necessary to upgrade the springs and pushrods with the rockers. Might as well upgrade those with a DOD delete kit and custom cam for 3 or 4 times the power. You might be able to stay in budget if you do the labor yourself.
