oil pan change

oil pan change
I changed the oil pan on my LQ9 engine in a 1956 chevy. I put in a Holly pan to get more ground clearance, the pan was the lowest part of the car. I'm about to start the engine.
Will the oil pump suck up the oil from the pan or do I have to pressurize the engine and then start it?

its certainly always best to prime the engine with oil before starting it for the first time or after along time. if you cant atleast make sure the oil filter is full and turn it over for a bit with the fuel injectors and coils unplugged.
