I put a LS3 in my '80 corvette. Just broke my 4th belt. Had to be flat bedded again. The set up doesn't have a spring loaded belt tensioner. Would a spring loaded belt tensioner solve the problem? It looks like I have aluminum mounting hardware. Is there hardware and parts that I could buy that would make it bullet proof? Can't keep doing this. Also with my 265 wide rear tires, would it be crazy to put in a LS7?

I remember someone posting that my SLP tensioner is really a Z06 tensioner. Or for a different style the LS3 tensioner is spring loaded also.
