I seen that thread and since i own a dyno figured i'd try..had 2 sets of runners the ones I cut...also just like the guy on cf...I run a big cam figured what the hell figured I'd try an test it..with uncut runner made 602rwhp 517rwtq peak numbers at 6520rpm with nothing else done but a runner change to a 5 inch runner made the same peak power at 602rw but was down on hp in the whole rpm band just made the same hp this time its peaked at 6800 rwtq was down 30 ft lbs even at peak....so i wasted alot of time but wanted to give a real same night same dyno results...also after that we change from a ngktr6 to a ngk br7...lost 10hp with the plug..lol so i had a bad night...sucks...

I would too. Losing 20 down low compared to extending your rpm by 200-300 would be a fine trade.

New article. Looks like they've done some testing:

I really hope they start selling the FAST intakes with the choice of runner length here soon. I'm waiting on purchasing one because I want the FAST 102mm intake with the medium length runners. I think that's just what my current setup needs and will help me make a lot more HP past 6,000 RPM's.

There is no helpful information provided by FAST here...as long as the overlay long runner power curve vs. mid and short is not available.
Why is that major info missing?

I spoke to those dudes about two weeks ago and they do make the "race runners" they call them. They are the short one BUT it's only for LS3 manifolds. They also said for now there isn't a budget for research on the LS1,2 or 7,
I think they want to see the demand on the LS3 first.
If I recall correctly they claim an extra 15hp gain from regular runners.
You can buy just the runners for like $350.
call em: F.A.S.T. = RHS = Comp Cam (all are the same company)

Destroking a LS7 is pretty common when you are chasing a power band between 6000 to 9500 rpm.
