Default LS3 Edelbrock Crossram Pictures

Here are the pictures of the Edelbrock LS3 Crossram mocked up on my LS3/525 Crate Engine.

There is interference with the oil fill tube and cap, not a problem for me since I was going to get other covers with out the coil mounts anyway.

I hope to mock up the accessory drive later today.

Quality of the manifold seems to be excellent, it is a shame the fuel rails will be hidden under the cross over rams. They are jewlery.

Default With Accessory Drive Mocked up

Here are a few pics with the accessory drive mocked up.

Summit part number: EDL-71413

I wish winter wasn't coming so fast (or that the manifold wasn't back-ordered for 3 months) or I would have some driving and dyno reviews to share.

Hopefully others have received the LS3 Crossram and have some real world results to share.

Yes, it will duplicate the drive by wire throttle body signal to run both GM 90 mm units.

How's the port alignment? And there doesn't look to be a lot of room for aftermarket valve covers either, what do you think?

Ken,

Port alignment looks ok, here are some pics. Sorry for the lack of brightness.

Realize the manifold is not bolted down and there are no intake O Rings or gaskets.

The valve cover seems to have 1" of room between the lower coil mount boss on the intake log and the edge of the factory valve cover. Another 1/2 inch is available if you choose to remove the lower coil mounting boss.

There appears to be a 1/8 of an inch exposed at the top of the intake port on the stock LS3 head.

That may be due to the lack of care when I dropped the manifold in place.

I will head out to the garage and see if the ram tube portion of the manifold has some wiggle room.

If anything it does leave room for porting, if in fact porters change the port size.

Side to side looks to be right on.

Bottom is harder to see, will update later

Wow, didn't realise just how high the throttle bodies sit.

Doesn't look like there's any chance it would fit under the bonnet of a Monaro (GTO).

Thanks for the pics! Is this supposed to use a gasket or orings? 1/8" isn't too terrible and definitely liveable if you don't have the means for porting just yet.

When do you think you'll have it running?

I may wire the thing up in a couple of weeks and run it on the DSE front sub-frame, the car needs to be stripped down and mini tubbed for the quadra link and other work before it will be driven.

Best estimate would be late April / Early May due to the lovely winter weather approaching NH.

The manifold uses stock LS3 port seal gaskets, GM PN 19256623 at the head. There is a gasket that comes with the intake between the plenums and the ram tube section, it uses 2 stock throttle body gaskets/o-rings also.

I think once it is properly assembled the port lip will be minimal.

Casting is really nice, Quality work by Edelbrock.

I hope it works as well as it looks.

Interested to see how this turns out. This is going to be an N/A motor?

Just checking in to see if you've made any progress? I'm also putting an Edelbrock crossram on a LS3/525. We're just getting it mocked up now, so a few months behind you... probably won't have it running for another couple of months.

Hmmm, wonder if they'd sell the base separate?
